Dear Robinson family, I am Lilly Marguerite Robinson-Clark’s granddaughter. I was searching on your “Planet Nielsen” Web site, she was mentioned on page 143? I am also Eleanor M. Thanks, alicedixonbutler@yahoo.com

There used to be some family history on here about my Great Grandfather Axel Nielsen, his life history in Denmark and Utah. I plan to visit Denmark soon and I would like to visit the town that he was born in. Is that information still available here?

My wife and I just returned from a trip to Germany, Denmark, and Sweden that included visiting Sjorring, Thisted, Denmark. We rode the Eurail from Frankfurt, Germany to Sjorring. Thank you for sending me the information on our Great Grandfather Axel Nielsen. I showed the information and the picture to people that I met in Sjorring and they were very friendly and helpful to us. It is a beautiful part of Denmark, mostly farms and small towns. We stayed at the Hotel Thisted in thisted, about 5 miles north of Sjorring. A beautiful storybook type town at the very end of the rail line. We investigated some of the cemetaries in the area, Nielsen is a very common name there. I would need to spend more time there to really find out more about our ancestors, where their homestead was etc. Some of the friendliest people in the world are there, especially when they found out about my Danish heritage. I have picures that I will share, I am at equatorsam@yahoo.com

John, I’d love to hear more about any family history info you have on the Sjorring region and Axel Christian Nielsen specifically. I’ve always wanted to travel to Denmark but it hasn’t happened yet. :>

We were walking around Sjorring, a small and beautiful farm town when this nice man appeared out of nowhere and began talking to us. He has the same last name Nielsen and I gave him the information that you sent me with our Great Grandfathers picture. He has found some more information on our ancestors. I will try and post it here. I cannot recommend enough that you try and visit this part of Denmark, it is magical there.

I has found the place where Axel Chr. Nielsen’s parents lived until 1872, then they sold the farm and get a speciel form for pension in conection with the sale. The buildings does not exist any more. I can only see them on a map from 1860 who is edited until 1903. In the new map from 1903 there is none buildings there.Perhaps you know the year Axel Chr. Nielsen migrated to Utah. I will like to know it.
